Promotion of a book by Janina Katz, Cracovian Jew and Danish writer. Her novel is about remembrance, family memory, symbolized by and imprinted in photographs of the family album. She has received many prestigious literary awards.

Exhibition Opening Prints by Basil C. Frank, part of the framework of the Cracow Graphic Arts Triennial. Frank was born in Cape Town, South Africa where he studied sculpture at the University in Cape Town, followed by London, where he also worked as a lecturer. The Portraitist - presentation of the documentary film by Ireneusz Dobrowolski about Wilhelm Brasse, a photographer in KL Auschwitz. Photos of Auschwitz inmates appearing for 60 years in books and encyclopedias are by rule unsigned and treated as anonymous. But they do have an author - 89-year-old Wilhelm Brasse residing in Żywiec, who for years has tried to forget about the hell he once photographed day by day. The documentary film maker Ireneusz Dobrowolski had managed to convince Mr. Brasse to tell his story in front of a camera. (in Polish, 55 minutes)

LITERARY PROGRAM I Was Looking at their Lips? The Diary of Warsaw Ghetto - promotion of the book released by Homini Publishing House in Krakow and the National Museum at Majdanek, with the participation of Dr. Krzysztof Bielawski, Dr. Jacek Leociak, and Dr. Piotr Weiser. We know very little about the author of the shocking diary written in Warsaw Ghetto and found at Majdanek. Her name was Maryla and she probably perished at the pacification of the Ghetto Uprising or in the camp soon afterwards. Out of notebooks filled by her, only one survived intact, which deals with the last days of March and April of 1943. The journal ends when people crowded in bunkers await the end, listening to the dying sounds of the battle.
