PROGRAM REPORT 2 0 0 3


Between January 1st and December 31st, 2003, in the 10th year of the Center’s activities, 231 program events (including lectures, conferences, seminars, book presentations, film showings, exhibitions and concerts) took place at the Center for Jewish Culture in Kazimierz, Cracow. Additionally, there were:

  • 140 visits of foreign groups,
  • 24 visits of Polish groups
  • 100 visits of noted persons.

On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the Judaica Foundation awarded the Judaica Foundation Medal to Mrs. Irena Sendlerowa, who rescued 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Center for Jewish Culture, the Polish Post Office issued special stamp and Cracow’s Gazeta Wyborcza daily published a special insert to the edition of November 24th, 2003.

The Jews and Christians in Poland and Europe After the Shoah Summer Program for students of the Theological University of Reformed Churches in Kampen, Holland, took place in October 2003.
